Races 12, 13, and 14: Holiday Races
Wow. It's 2017, and I need to get it together with these posts. I have four in queue waiting on photos, for the record.
So I'll start with this post: I did three Holiday Races in December! All of them were 5ks, and they were all a lot of fun!
First, I did the Santa Hustle. It was pretty funny seeing so many Santas running around down by Solider Field, and the course was very interesting and kind of different! It ran through garden areas down in the museum campus that I had actually never been through before!
The next race I did was the Ugly Sweater 5k, which included a Kaluah Hot Chocolate after (so basically, it was amazing). The course was a little more typical for this--it ran south along the lake front path and started in Solider Field's South Lot. To be honest, I think a lot of these races have a weakness in their location. I wish more were in the parks. The cool thing about this race was that I got to meet my instagram friend. Gaby, in person!
My final Holiday race was the Rudolph Run in Shelbyville, IN. I drove an hour for that one, and met another Chicago Endurance Sports runner there! I was hoping to place in the top 20. I didn't, but I ran a good race and I'm pretty proud of my time!
Overall, the races were fun and festive but not too much to write home about! I would recommend them though!
More posts to come!
