Fitness Friday (on a Monday): I tried HIIT
Yes, I tried another trendy workout. I'm going to do a brief on this one, pending further investigation.
HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. It's a cousin of crossfit, but the thing is, it's pretty much just the training you did in any sport you played in high school. I'm serious, it 100% is. It reminded me of every track practice ever. You do ladders (like high school) and you're split up into groups at "stations" (like high school). I promise, it's just like high school sports all over again
Needless to say, given that it's like high school sports, it kicked my ass just like they did back in the day. I went to Arms and Core at SWEAT Fitness by my apartment, and they definitely knew what they were doing. I left exhausted and sore and elated. I loved high school sports training. Cross Country and Track developed my legs an core to an awesome level that made my stick-thin figure finally look more normal. Softball built my shoulders. HIIT can do that all for you, all over again.
I've only been to that one class so far, but I'm planning on hitting the Butt/Legs class on Wednesday. Would I recommend it? Definitely. If you played high school sports, it will feel comfortingly familiar. I would definitely give it a shot if you have a class available!
