Living like Elle Woods
One of the movies that motivates me the most in my life, Legally Blonde, turns 15 today and it has me thinking about life. Weird to say Legally Blonde does that to me, but it does. And it got me thinking about living like Elle Woods. W.W.E.W.D? (What would Elle Woods do?)
Let me back up. The past two months, I’ve totally derailed. I’ve missed a lot of yoga and a lot of runs. I’m chalking it up to a “quarter-life crisis.” I just don’t know what I’m doing. While I know that’s okay, it still scares the crap out of me. After eating not-so-well and ending up very sick on vacation, I realized just how far I had fallen from the life I loved and have been trying to regroup.
Just in time, Legally Blonde’s 15th anniversary arrived and gave me the boost I needed. In my opinion, we should all live like Elle Woods. Though Elle initially began everything as an attempt to get her boyfriend Warner back, her resilience and determination to succeed after Warner rebukes her and calls her stupid through a thinly veiled insult motivates me every single time I watch it.
This movie and its message was just the little bump I needed to get myself back on track with my health, hobbies and work. Some days I just want to lay around and mope, and that's okay. But it's not okay every day, especially when it just makes me feel worse in the long run, both physically and emotionally. I'm ready to feel better again
So today I'm writing this short note to remind everyone out there to watch Legally Blonde today, and to work towards living like Elle Woods. You never know where it might take you.
